Track progress on assigned deliverables and report on performance against agreed targets. Budget and Financial Monitoring Provide technical input to budget planning, including software development platform, licence, and tooling requirements. Monitor platform usage and consumption costs, and flag variances or optimization opportunities to management.

Technical Leadership & Knowledge Sharing Operate as a hands-on individual contributor, independently executing software development work against approved business priorities. Act as the go-to technical reference for colleagues, contractors, and implementation partners, sharing knowledge and best practices.

Produce technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures that build sustainable software development capabilities. Advise management on future capability and skill requirements as the software development function grows. Coordination Work closely with relevant teams to ensure the smooth execution of operational plans.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve operational issues and support timely delivery. Job-Specific Accountabilities Software Development & Technical Delivery Personally execute the end-to-end software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade web applications, backend services, APIs, and digital solutions. Write clean, secure, reusable, maintainable, and well-documented code in accordance with established development standards. Develop frontend and backend application components using appropriate modern frameworks and technologies.

Perform code reviews, debugging, refactoring, performance optimization, and technical issue resolution. Build prototypes, proofs of concept, and minimum viable products to validate business requirements and technical approaches. Ensure software solutions meet functional, non-functional, performance, scalability, and security requirements.

Application Architecture & Solution Design Design scalable, modular, secure, and maintainable software architectures aligned with enterprise architecture principles. Translate business requirements into technical specifications, application components, data models, and solution designs.

Define application architecture patterns, frameworks, development technologies, and reusable components. Evaluate technical alternatives and recommend solutions based on business value, maintainability, scalability, and total cost of ownership. Ensure compatibility and interoperability between developed applications and existing enterprise platforms.

Maintain solution architecture documentation, technical design specifications, and development standards. Digital Platforms & Enterprise Application Development Design, develop, enhance, and maintain internal digital platforms, employee applications, customer-facing solutions, and business process automation tools.

Develop custom applications and extensions that support enterprise business functions and operational requirements. Build software capabilities that integrate with Oracle Fusion ERP, Salesforce CRM, and other enterprise systems through approved integration services and APIs.

Develop applications on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and other approved enterprise hosting environments. Deliver digital services, self-service portals, workflow applications, and mobile-responsive solutions. Ensure applications are designed to support future business expansion, multilingual requirements, and international scalability.

Backend Development, APIs & Data Services Design, develop, and maintain backend application services, business logic, and database interactions. Develop RESTful APIs, microservices, and reusable software components that support enterprise application functionality.

Implement secure authentication, authorization, data validation, and application-level security controls. Develop database structures, queries, stored procedures, and data access components as required. Optimize application performance, database interactions, and service response times.

Coordinate with the Enterprise Integration function to ensure APIs and applications comply with approved integration architecture and governance standards. DevOps, CI/CD & Release Management Establish and maintain development repositories, branching strategies, build processes, and version control practices.

Implement and maintain Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Automate application build, testing, packaging, and deployment processes. Execute application releases across development, testing, staging, and production environments in accordance with approved change management procedures.

Implement development environment configuration, dependency management, and deployment automation. Coordinate with Infrastructure and Cloud teams to ensure application hosting, availability, monitoring, and deployment readiness.

Software Quality, Security & Performance Implement software quality standards covering coding practices, automated testing, technical reviews, and defect management. Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and other relevant software testing activities.

Identify and remediate application vulnerabilities, coding defects, performance bottlenecks, and technical debt. Apply secure coding practices aligned with enterprise cybersecurity requirements and recognized application security standards. Monitor application performance and reliability, and implement corrective and preventive improvements.

Ensure robust application logging, exception handling, monitoring, and troubleshooting capabilities. Application Maintenance & Continuous Improvement Provide hands-on technical support for internally developed applications and custom software solutions. Investigate and resolve complex application defects, production incidents, and performance issues.

Implement application enhancements, bug fixes, security patches, and technical upgrades. Identify opportunities to modernize legacy applications, simplify codebases, and improve maintainability. Maintain technical documentation, configuration records, and source code repositories.

Drive continuous improvement through automation, reusable components, and modern engineering practices. Emerging Technologies & Innovation Evaluate and prototype emerging software development technologies, frameworks, and AI-enabled development capabilities.

Explore the adoption of AI, automation, and intelligent application features to improve business processes and user experience. Develop proofs of concept for innovative digital services and emerging technology use cases. Assess the technical feasibility, scalability, security, and business value of new development approaches.

Support the introduction of AI-assisted development tools in accordance with approved security and governance requirements. Contribute to the evolution of Badael’s development capabilities and technology roadmap.

Vendor Technical Oversight Act as the technical point of contact for software development vendors, technical contractors, and implementation partners. Review vendor-developed source code, technical architecture, documentation, and software deliverables. Validate development quality, security, maintainability, and compliance with approved technical standards.

Track vendor technical deliverables and dependencies, and escalate risks to management. Ensure source code ownership, documentation, knowledge transfer, and maintainability of externally developed solutions.
