Packaging Development Analyst

Task Execution & Learning Learn and follow defined processes, procedures, and guidelines to perform assigned packaging development tasks within the Research & Development department in line with approved standards and requirements. Assist and support in executing assigned tasks under supervision to contribute to team and departmental activities.

Support Activities Support day-to-day operational and functional packaging development activities as directed by the line manager. Reporting & Documentation Prepare basic documentation, reports, test records, and required outputs related to packaging specifications, test results, and project activities as assigned.

Maintain accurate records and report updates, deviations, and findings to supervisors in a timely manner. Process Compliance Follow instructions, policies, and procedures to ensure adherence to organizational standards, quality requirements, and regulatory guidelines.

Observe and apply safety, quality, and operational requirements in all packaging development and testing activities. Participate in training programs and development activities to build required skills, packaging knowledge, and technical capabilities.

Packaging Development & Supplier Coordination Support the development and improvement of packaging solutions that are functional, visually aligned with brand requirements, and suitable for product protection and distribution. Assist in preparing packaging mock-ups, samples, specifications, and testing plans for evaluation and validation.

Research and evaluate packaging materials based on quality, compatibility, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness. Coordinate with suppliers to collect technical data, samples, and quotations and ensure compliance with required specifications and standards.

Cost Optimization & Process Improvement Support cost optimization initiatives through efficient material usage, packaging standardization, and process improvements. Assist in analyzing packaging performance, identifying improvement opportunities, and reducing waste and inefficiencies.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and quality of packaging development activities. Follow established workflows and escalate identified issues to the line manager for resolution and guidance.

Regulatory Compliance & Quality Support Ensure packaging specifications and materials comply with regulatory requirements, company standards, and quality expectations. Participate in packaging validation and testing activities and maintain documentation to ensure compliance with approved specifications.

Prepare and maintain accurate records of packaging test results, material certifications, and compliance documentation. Report any non-conformities, deviations, or quality concerns to the line manager and support corrective action implementation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate with departments such as R&D, QA, Procurement, Operations, and Marketing to align packaging requirements with project objectives. Support packaging development projects by following timelines, tracking progress, and coordinating required activities with internal stakeholders.

Assist in coordinating with suppliers and external agencies to obtain required materials, technical information, and packaging artwork inputs. Participate in cross-functional meetings and provide required inputs and updates on packaging project status.

Sustainability & Innovation Support Contribute to sustainability initiatives by supporting the evaluation and implementation of environmentally friendly packaging materials and solutions. Monitor market trends, new packaging technologies, and sustainable innovations to support continuous development initiatives.

Assist in researching and reporting on emerging packaging materials, design trends, and industry best practices. Observe and learn from innovation and sustainability projects to build relevant technical knowledge and capability.

Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate documentation related to packaging specifications, test results, supplier communications, artwork references, project records, and bill of materials. Prepare reports, data analysis, and presentations to support packaging development decisions and continuous improvement activities.

Report packaging project status, test findings, and supplier updates to the line manager in a clear and timely manner. Ensure all packaging records, files, and databases are up to date, organized, and accessible to relevant team members.

Development & Learning Participate in training programs, workshops, and development activities to build required technical packaging skills and knowledge. Learn and apply feedback from supervisors and team members to improve performance, output quality, and technical capability.

Proactively seek learning opportunities in packaging technologies, materials science, and industry developments. Contribute positively to team activities and support a collaborative and continuous improvement work culture.
